Job Description

The candidate is expected to pursue research in the area of computer science, in particular in knowledge-based robotized automation, by participating in selected research projects of the RSS group (http://rss.cs.lth.se). The candidate will also undertake graduate education, by taking Ph.D. courses or in other forms. Normally the candidate will also be assigned teaching and administrative duties up to 20% of her/his time.

Eligibility/Entry Requirements

The basic eligibility for graduate studies corresponds to: an academic exam on the advanced undergraduate level and coursework corresponding to at least 240 ECTS, out of which at least 60 ECTS on advanced level, or corresponding knowledge obtained some other way in Sweden or elsewhere.

The candidate is expected to have strong background (preferably a major degree) in computer science, with interests and preferably also background in robotics and automation. The opposite profile is also possible (i.e. major in robotics/automation), but the documented CS background needs to be substantial in such case, at least corresponding to a minor degree.

Basis of Assessment

The rules for employment as a Ph.D. student can be found in the Swedish law SFS 1998:80. Only a person admitted to graduate studies may be employed. In the employment process the importance will be put on capacity to succeed with the Ph.D. studies. The employed person may be obliged to serve in education. research and administrative duties, according to the rules of the law.
