First and foremost, an interview is a test and not something else as job seekers will take it to be. When you have this mind set then you
have one quarter of the job interview passed.
Secondly, get all the possible information you can about the establishment from its inception till date and likewise all possible current affairs information both local and international including sports news. I have a friend that went for an interview and surprisingly the last question he was asked was the Coach's name of the football club he was wearing on his wrist and he he got it right (the interviewer was also a fan of the same football club) and favoured by God he got the job. So, you don't know exactly where you questions could come out from.
Thirdly, be on time to the venue of the interview and and better still in time for you to be more relax and comported
Fourthly, dress cooperate even if its your friend that's conducting the interview. Learn dressing etiquette where you know what matches that and so on.
Fifthly, posses a moderate look and odour. Don't over dress yourself(face & hair), and also don't over use prefume that's too concentrated as the interviewer may be totally allergic to perfume.
Sixthly, use standard English or which every language is in use. Avoid the use of slang's or vernacular, like Sure Sir, uhm(for yes), etc. Avoid tautology in you statements. For questions you really do not have complete reply, try to be implicit or ask for another question.
Seventh, be bold but meek. You answer confidently but not in an over-reacting manner because no matter what you are, you are an applicant for now(laughs). Do not over answer a question till you are stopped because you are then over talking, just be explicit for questions you are sure of their answer.
And Lastly, appreciate the examiner(s) after the interview no matter the outcome, it helps and could change their mind positively towards you.
